The very first day of the Gym 4 Life contest was held in Bendigo this afternoon

This afternoon in Bendigo we saw the first of many Gym 4 Life contests. Teams from all over Australia thrilled the packed stadium with a display of colour, movement and spectacular originality.

The contest opened with a Love Story by four young couples from Gosford, followed by the PIT display team who unveiled their new piece of innovative equipment. West Tamar, comprising of performers ranging from the age of 8 through to 54, performed to James Bond. Gymaroos enthralled and wowed the crowd with a polished performance that represented the Australian bush fire season.

Gosfords large team cast a spell on the audience with their Hocus Pocus routine while the beautiful and emotional performance to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Carey Rhythmic gymnastics team gave the audience goose-bumps. Pit Gymnastics had the audience laughing with a comic routine, while Kingborough Gymnastics performed for the very first time on the National stage.

Springwood & District Boys and Girls Club travelled all the way from the Blue Mountains to dazzle us with a strong acrobatics and dance display. Flip 4 Fun with a wide range of ages combined exciting tumbling, acrobatics and taekwondo. Launceston PCYC performed a display with colourful poi.

One of the crowd favourites, Caringbah YMCA, brought the Wii characters to life in a dynamic and quirky display transporting the audience into the land of Wii. The Aquarius performance displayed a high level of acrobatic skills and Gosford's third team in the Gym 4 Life showed their versatility with a rhythmic performance.

Bankstown Sports wrapped up the contest with a high standard of tumbling and acrobatics.
